Biography
Alex Charriol
Alex Charriol · Los Angeles Studio
"Growing up on different continents enormously influenced my work. As a child we moved a lot. That taught me to embrace change, and to quickly make new and interesting connections."
That instinct anchors Human Flow, his ongoing series centered on the human hand and the intimacy of touch. Rather than depicting any single culture, the series treats touch as a shared language, legible across geography, generation, and difference. The resulting work moves fluidly between registers: playful and grave, sensual and spare, rooted in gesture yet unmistakably contemporary.
Charriol studied at Parsons School of Design (2001–2003), Tufts University (1999–2001), and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts / Northeastern University (1998–1999). He began his career in New York and now lives and works in Los Angeles.
